Angela McEwan-Alvarado was born in Los Angeles and has lived in many
parts of the United States, as well as in Mexico and Central America.
She obtained her master's degree from the University of California at Irvine
and, since then, has worked as editor of educational materials as well
as a translator. The story "Naranjas" was the result of an assignment
at a writer's workshop. The author was able to mix images and experiences
from her life in the story.
