What to Submit

Thank you for your inquiry regarding manuscript submissions. We are always happy to review relevant ESL materials. Should you wish to submit a prospectus for review by our ESL editors, please forward the following materials to us:

  • a summary of the proposed project: please describe exactly what you are proposing (e.g., a series of college level ESL reading texts, a single elementary level ESL grammar text, an intermediate high school level listening text with tapes, etc.) with support detail as necessary so that an outside reviewer would understand what the entire project entails.
  • a rationale for the creation of this product
  • an analysis of the market this product should address
  • a comparison of your proposed project to similar products currently on the market
  • a discussion of how it fits into the spectrum of our (Heinle) current ESL texts
  • a table of contents
  • one or two sample units/chapters: in general, it is preferable to submit only a unit/chapter or two rather than a whole manuscript for review.

Please address your submission to the following editor, depending on your project area. Please do not leave manuscripts or proposals at a Heinle conference booth – we cannot be responsible for their safe delivery due to the high volume of traffic.
